This airport, located around 20 miles outside of Dubai, is the first part of a huge logistics complex. While no airlines currently fly to this airport direct from the UK, the passenger side of Dubai World Central is growing, having only opened to passenger flights in 2013. Currently, passengers from the UK can fly to Dubai World Central with Gulf Air via Bahrain, or Qatar Airways via Doha.
The airport has been designed for next-generation technology, built to handle super-jumbos like the Airbus A380. Five parallel runways, three passenger terminals and 16 cargo terminals have been planned for this giant complex, as well as lavish hotels and shopping centres. Similar to Dubai International Airport, Dubai World Central will have executive and royal jet centres.
